Health Sharing Plans and Reimbursement Limits - Which Max Applies?

Written by Support

Health share or Medical sharing programs are generally not classified as primary health insurance. Because of this, if your athlete needed treatment for an injury during the registered activity, you would pay for the treatment upfront and then submit receipts for reimbursement. In the claims process, when asked if you have primary health insurance, the answer would be "no," since a health share or medical sharing program typically does not meet that definition.

This means the maximum benefit available would be $2,000, not $5,000, since the $5,000 limit applies only to those with qualifying primary health insurance.
